Morris Capital Markets Communications, or MC2, is dedicated to helping
companies plan and implement effective communication programs.
Our firm
recognizes companies approach the capital markets based on differing needs and
requirements. Yet, all companies
have the same objective—to minimize the cost of financial capital and access
the capital markets when needed at the lowest possible cost.
Assisting companies to achieve this objective is the business of MC2.
MC2 maintains a philosophy of integrating investor relations and financial media relations to meet the unique needs of each client. Each company must differentiate itself in communicating its message to the financial community. With more than 9,000 publicly traded companies listed, developing a specifically tailored communication strategy is crucial. While MC2 works with each client to create a unique and strategic communication plan for the capital markets, we remain focused. We succeed by continually answering two questions asked by capital market participants and by client companies, namely: Why Communicate with the Capital
Markets?
The capital markets' communication function is integral to identifying sources of capital on a global basis and determines why capital is, or remains, committed to a particular investment or stock. Usually, investor motivation is to earn a rate of return in excess of the perceived risk associated with the investment. An investor makes decisions based on the evaluation of a company’s strategy, management’s ability to execute that strategy, and financial performance. A favorable evaluation means capital will be available or maintained at an attractive cost. How is Effective Communication with Capital Markets Best Achieved? If the investment decision is based on strategy, management, and performance, it is incumbent upon company management to ensure these decision criteria are communicated in a clear, concise, and consistent manner. This communication process can be implemented by using a marketing approach. The corporate message, or decision criteria, in effect, becomes a "product" to be marketed and sold to the capital markets. By utilizing investor relations and financial media relations tools, the "product" is "packaged" and "distributed" to targeted capital markets participants, the "customers". The marketing and communication processes are monitored by obtaining periodic feedback from current and prospective investors to evaluate reaction to corporation's strategy, management, and performance.
Morris Capital Markets Communications is particularly well placed to develop and implement a strategic and integrated capital markets' communication program for your company. Our client experience includes providing a wide range of consulting services to pre-IPO and NASDAQ Small-Cap companies as well as Fortune 500 companies.
